William Albert is commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres/Ieper, where c 54000 soldiers without known graves are named. His name is on the top North-facing section where the Addenda panels are.
The panels are huge, as you can see from the height of the people. William Albert’s name is on the left towards the bottom, which is lucky otherwise it would have been very difficult to photograph.
Every evening at 8pm the Fire Brigade play 'The Last Post', a ceremony they have conducted since 1928 except for during WW2.
Organisations, eg British Legion, also lay wreaths as part of the ceremony. If you get the chance then go, it is very moving to be there.
Many relatives leave tributes, stuck into any crack they can find
