Updates:

Firstly, my apologies to those of you who have sent me updates and have waited so long! This nasty thing called work has been getting in the way, not to mention a few weddings!

1911 census

Here's my first take on the numbers

1911 - census by district

Richard David Gotts - Travelling Showman

Richard's brother also changed his name to Sanders: see more details in Snapshots 14

John Gotts of Barningham (tree #022 Matthew of Ingworth)

Following the addition of Barningham Town parish registers to FreeReg, Evelyn Jenner and Pat Upsall have added the parents of  Matthew 303 Gotts.  Nick Gotts has also noticed that John 3302 who is Matthew's father could be the John Gotts a witness at William Gotts & Elizabeth Burrage's wedding at Hevingham in 1757 who are in tree #040 (ie mine!)

Anti-German attacks

Has anyone come across any attacks on Gottses because the name appears to be German?

Dave & Maureen Hall believe Edith May Gotts was attacked in London, possibly during WW1.

My father got stopped, but is anyone aware of any reports in the newspapers?
