There are a number of Gotts's in Bulphan and Orsett:
Mark 2641 b 1785
Jesse 2648 b 1786
Susannah 3099 b 1789, m William Collis date unknown
Elisabeth 3100 b 1785-1805, m William Lenny, date unknown
We know of their existence through the will of Mark 2641, their marriages and some census information. A lease for Mark 2641 mentions him as Mark the Younger, inferring his father is called Mark as well. As yet, we have no knowledge of their father or mother.
Question: Who are their parents and where are they from?
Mark 2641 married Sarah 2642 Livermore in 1830 in Bulphan. His will in 1858 mentions many of his relatives, including his daughter:
Sarah 3068 b 1842 in Orsett district (probably Bulphan), married Edward Dyson Mee in 1861.
Jesse 2638 Gotts married twice. His first wife was Mary 2639 Roach, and he married her at St James Westminster in 1816. Their known children are:
Jesse Roach 1633 Gotts b 1817 in Bulphan
Hannah Harriet Roach 2637 Gotts b abt 1825 in Orsett. She married William Farran Stevens of Bulphan in 1846. It is said that they ran up large debts which they could not pay and fled the country.
Mary Roach must have died between 1825 and 1831, as Jesse married Elizabeth 2640 Roach in 1831 in St Clement Danes, Westminster. There are no known children.
